Homes destroyed by Hurricane Harvey will soon be replaced thanks to the Houston City Council unanimous approval for a $10.25 million dollar loan to construct The Citadel.

Non-profit developers NHP Foundation and Change Happens Community Development Corporation will construct this affordable home development at 3345 Elgin Street. The property will consist of 74 studio and one-bedroom apartment units designed for low-to-moderate income seniors at different levels of household income. Each unit will be maintain affordability for 40 years with rents ranging from $343 - $963 per month, depending on unit size and household income.

The property is close to neighborhood amenities such as grocery stores, a multi-service center, parks and schools. Serving low- to moderate-income seniors, certain numbers of units will be designated for different levels of income.
