S.H.A.P.E Community Center
Marcos Mazula Technology Center
S.H.A.P.E. Community Center hosted the dedication and grand opening of The Marcos Mazula Technology Center. Marcos Mazula was a long-time S.H.A.P.E. volunteer and children’s educational advocate who started the first technology program at the community center 10 years ago. Marcos was a gifted artist, with a passion for technology and he generously shared his gifts with the students in the S.H.A.P.E. community to expand their natural interests, curiosities, and horizons.
Together, Houston Community College (HCC) and Siemens will enable S.H.A.P.E. to introduce students to computer-aided design (CAD) software, 3D printing and engineering pathways that are not always accessible to under-resourced communities. This program will align with S.H.A.P.E.’s mission to improve the quality of life for people of African descent through programs and activities, with emphasis on unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith.
