Pedestrian and Bicycle Refuge Island at White Oak and Michaux
A cross section of White Oak Drive showing a concrete median with two striped crosswalks and one lane of vehicle travel on both sides. The concrete median is wide enough for people walking and biking to wait in the median so that they only have to navigate crossing one lane of traffic at a time. The concrete median prohibits drivers from making left turns onto both streets as well as restricts thru-traffic on Michaux.
