Sowing Seeds Community Garden Launches Phase One of the Bethune Empowerment Center Project

The Bethune Empowerment Center (BEC) welcomed the opening of the Acres Home Farmers Market Sowing Seeds Community Garden. This existing garden relocated to the BEC at 2500 S. Victory Drive, and continues to provide affordable produce and other items by local vendors.

This community garden launched phase one of the BEC redevelopment project. Future development included in phase one also includes conference rooms, administrative office space, breakroom areas, collaborative working and circulations spaces, commercial test kitchen, event space, community meeting and multi-purpose use spaces.

This community garden is hosted by the Communities or Better Health and the Acres Home Health Action Team. These groups help implement the suggestions provided by residents of Acres Home as detailed in the Acres Home Complete Communities Health Action Plan.
