Thank you for taking the time to attend our final Neighborhood Resilience Planning Public Meeting, at the White Oak Conference Center on February 22nd. Your support and dedication to the community is a testament to the importance of Greater Inwood Resiliency. Your presence at the public meeting was vital to the success of the event, and we are grateful for your participation. Together, we can work towards making positive changes in Greater Inwood. We are excited to announce that the Greater Inwood Neighborhood Resilience Plan will be released soon and we look forward to sharing it with you.






Exciting News: Small Grants Application Rollout for 2024!


LISC small grants are aimed at supporting comprehensive community development, which involves a place-based and intentional approach to improve lives and strengthen communities by working at the intersection of people, places, and systems. For more information, please read through the full RFP . As a courtesy, the RFP includes the application questions. Please note that application submissions are done online, and you can find more details in the RFP.

Grant Amount: up to $5,000

Application Due via Online Submission: noon, April 30, 2024 via Small Grants 2024 Online Application

DISASTER READINESS AND RESILIENCE CLINIC

The Disaster Readiness and Resilience Clinic: Plan and Prepare will be held on May 4, 2024 at the Metropolitan (West Gray) Multi-Service Center, 1475 W Gray St., Houston, TX 77019, from 9 am to 3 pm. A Whole Community/Disability Access and Functional Needs (DAFN) inclusive workshop for individuals, caregivers, and families to improve their preparedness for the range of threats and hazards that may impact area community members. Promoting readiness through planning and consultation with support and service representatives including healthcare/medical/EMS/pharmacy/DME professionals, emergency managers, electricity providers, public health/housing/mental health/public transportation professionals, faith leaders and others.

The Planning Department is hosting our final Neighborhood Resilience Planning public meeting on Thursday, February 22, at 6pm, at the White Oak Conference Center. The purpose of final public meeting is to present the final results of projects to the community, celebrate their achievements and encourage participants to prioritize projects.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, we would still love to hear from you! The Greater Inwood Resilience Survey will be available here until March 8.

  • The vision and strategies outlined in this plan are the result of a nine-month outreach and engagement process, as well as previous planning efforts led by community-based organizations and the City of Houston.The goals and projects identified by the Greater Inwood community align with Resilient Houston goals and actions and determine how the City can assist with implementation. This survey provides an opportunity for you to help shape your community resiliency.
