Citywide Truck Route Plan Industry Survey

Houston’s strategic location and excellent connectivity to major highways, railroads, airports, and the Port of Houston make it an ideal hub for freight movement. This also creates challenges such as traffic congestion, air pollution, and safety hazards. To tackle these challenges, the City of Houston is preparing a truck route plan to identify the most suitable routes for through truck traffic. Our goal is to create objective criteria to designate certain roadways as “Through Truck Routes” that will allow trucks to efficiently move goods through the city.
